History/Music. In this musical session, find out about Lily Parr and the Preston Ladies team, and discover what life was like for women during WW1. We use collection items to help pupils identify and explain how objects have changed from the past to the present day. This session is perfect for classes looking to explore a local case study of North West history, as well as looking to find out more about the origins and story of women’s football.

History / Social Studies / Local History. This session is based on the museum gallery and explores what it was like to be a football fan in the past, and asks pupils to find out more about how teams from grassroots to premiere league are formed. Pupils will also find out how to make a mini museum curating stories of inclusion.

Design & Technology / Science / Teambuilding. Sustainability is key in this exciting teambuilding workshop! Your class will need to be resourceful, and work in groups to design and make a football out of various materials from around the museum, then test them out to see who can be crowned the ultimate tinkering champion!

Science / History. This brand-new session, developed in collaboration with KIT Theatre, explores what makes a footballer, and how everyone can look after their bodies, whether they are an athlete or not! Links with KS2 Science curriculum, as well as a wider focus on wellbeing.

History / Social Studies. Football isn’t just the 90 minutes on the pitch – the reach of football is global, social and relevant every day. This session explores the social and cultural impact of football, and what affects participation in football in the modern world.

PE / Sports Studies / History. Through this NFM’s Playful quiz, pupils will be split into teams and will learn about football’s origins, from mob football to the original FA laws and the beginning of club competition. Perfect for GCSE and BTEC level PE groups.

History. A local history exploration, looking at the teams that put Manchester on the map. Your class will delve into our mystery object boxes and work together to piece together the story of this city!
